*ELVIS ITEMS WANTED, JEWELRY CLOTHING, AND RARE PHOTOS AND FILMS*

Elvis Presley personal owned red paisley shirt with 2 elastic arm bands with fold I.C. Costume Company label circa 1970

Underpants

Writing on the Graceland wall today is a tradition that dates back to when Elvis first purchased Graceland. The same thing happened with this mailbox, which is the original mailbox that stood outside of Graceland while Elvis lived there. After enough signatures and notes covered the mailbox, it would be repainted.

This telephone

 was obtained by

 Harold Lloyd (Elvis Presley cousin)

for me as a gift in 1979 Sep. during my 2nd trip in Memphis.

After lunch, Harold said to me "..Terry, I have a small gift for you..".

Then, he gave me a green telephone !!

He told me than this telephone were used by Elvis in the early 70's at Graceland.

Elvis' Last Ring - This is a picture of his last ring.

Elvis only wore this ring once and he never had a chance to pay for it.

Black Makeup Case

This black Max Factor makeup case is the most infamous of all Elvis artifacts.

Elvis owned hundreds of pieces of clothing, jewelry, and dozens of guns and cars. But Elvis owned only two cases in his lifetime. The one he carried that last two years of his life is secured in the Graceland archive. This one was never out of his reach for nearly eleven years and is the one you see in many of the behind the scenes photographs of Elvis on the road.

As is stated in the provenance from Joe Esposito, Elvis’ close friend and road manager for seventeen years, Esposito purchased the case at Elvis’ request from the Max Factor Store in Hollywood, California in the early 1960’s. Elvis kept personal items and jewelry in the case. As Esposito states, "The case went everywhere we went, and there was hell to pay if someone forgot to bring it."

In the book, Elvis Aaron Presley: Revelations From The Memphis Mafia, by Alanna Nash, Marty Lacker recalls, "We were doing Kid Galahad when I first noticed what Elvis called his makeup case. It was a professional Hollywood makeup case with little drawers in it. He carried it with him wherever he went or had one of us carry it. It wasn’t for makeup…he used it to carry pills. The whole top layer of the kit was nothing but prescription bottles. All legal. He had all kinds of stuff. Uppers and downers. Pain pills. You name it…He had a pharmacy in that box. We could always tell when he was taking something by the way he acted. And if we didn’t see him, we’d hear him…we’d hear the bottles rattling."

To maintain its authenticity, nothing about the case has been refurbished. The top compartment contains the original green felt lining. All of the drawers in the bottom half are original to the case. Elvis’ name is stamped in silver just below the main front clasp.

When the new case was made, which Elvis demanded be identical to this one, Esposito stored this one until it was purchased by the current owner in July 2000. The winning bidder will receive a signed and notarized provenance from the current owner and from Joe Esposito.

This is an extraordinary one-of-kind artifact. As Esposito says, "If this makeup case could talk, the stories would be unbelievable. Thank goodness it can’t!"

                                      "Elvis On Tour" Cadillac
Elvis used this Cadillac touring sedan in the making of his 1972 concert film, "Elvis On Tour". Elvis leased this Cadillac in April of 1972 for his Virginia concert dates. Elvis used the cadillac for transportation from the airport to the hotel and the Coliseum. The Limo was owned by Albert Durant the first black limo company owner in Virginia. The footage in the movie is from three different concerts spliced into one clip. Elvis is shown in this limo as it leaves the Coliseum filmed from the outside. The interior shots were taken a few days later from  a separate concert in Jacksonville Florida. All three concerts in Virginia were filmed for Elvis' film and  I'm sure even more footage of this car is in the outtakes of "Elvis on Tour". The car is in fair condition but needs restoration. It is historic car and part of Elvis film and concert history. It has great documentation. Price $15,000 in its original state or $30,000 fully restored

GINGER ALDEN COLLECTION

Check written to the International School of Languages in August of 1967 for French lessons for Priscilla. Since Elvis was out of town so often, he would come up with different things like this to occupy Priscilla's time, such as dance and karate.

Check from February 1968 for a Colt Python pistol. When Lt. Col. Beaulieu (Priscilla's father) was going to Vietnam, Elvis worried about his safety. Concerned that Lt. Col. Beaulieu might get stuck in a dangerous situation, Elvis Presented him with the pistol, which he always carried but never had to use

Elvis's donation of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's beloved "Floating White House," the USS Potomac, to St. Jude. This week's artifact is Elvis' check which he used to pay for the yacht that he donated to St Jude's. From November 1, 2007 - January 11, 2008 visitors to both Elvis.com and Graceland will be encouraged to make a difference in the life of a child this holiday season by joining Marlo Thomas, her celebrity friends and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® for their Thanks and Giving campaign

TLC Diamond Necklace

The TCB and TLC necklaces Elvis gave to friends and to his entourage were originally designed according to rumor, by he and Priscilla. On August the 14th, 1971, I flew to Las Vegas with Dr. Nick on a Lear jet that Elvis had sent for us. During the visit, Elvis gave me the project of making the TCB and TLC necklaces for him and we discussed some slight changes to the necklace.
The point was too long and sharp, and the letters weren’t arranged exactly like he wanted. So we did a slight redesign of the necklace, and from then on I made all the necklaces for Elvis.  Although there are many who claim to have the original molds and claim to have made necklaces for Elvis, they simply are fakes. (Click here to see many original invoices, ledger cards and a signed statement by Mr. Vernon Presley to prove that my necklaces are the only authentic replicas available.)

Very few people got TCB necklaces. Only close members of his entourage, or very close friends. The TLC necklace was a little different. The TLC necklace was given to girls (tender loving care) and there were lots of girls. The band and members of the entourage had girlfriends and they all had necklaces too. Whenever Elvis met a young lady, he would usually give her a necklace. Some of the guys in the group would have diamonds set in their necklace. We set diamonds in the lightening bolt and then put little settings on the TCB letters with diamonds. Mr. Arty Newman was the head of the casino at the International Hotel in Las Vegas at that time, and I made his TCB with rubies and diamonds.

During the Christmas season of 1974, Elvis asked me to make a diamond TLC necklace for Linda Thompson. The necklace was larger than the regular size necklace, the lightening bolt was paved with tapered baguette-cut diamonds, the letters were made with 10-point full cut diamonds. The rope chain was heavier than the normal chain that I used. It was totally hand-made and was one of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry that Elvis ever bought from me. Over the years, I made dozens of TCB and TLC necklaces for Elvis. Many were customized with diamonds, rubies, sapphires, or emeralds.

On January 22, 1977, I delivered Elvis, another diamond TLC necklace. It was made similar to Linda Thompson’s necklace, but because it was hand-made they were not exact copies. This one was for Ginger Alden.

I remember when Elvis gave me my necklace. It was kind of like being knighted.  We were in the suite atop the Hilton in Las Vegas.  He had had a great show and was in a very good mood.  We were all sitting around his suite.  Elvis was sitting on the floor playing with his guitar an he started singing to us.  We all sung along with him and after a while he looked over at me – “Lowell, do you have any TCB Necklaces with you?”  I got one out of my case for him.  “Come over here”, he said “It’s about time you had one of these.  He put the necklace around my neck.  I’ll never forget that moment.

When you got a TCB necklace from Elvis, it meant you were part of his group. Believe me, I know. The necklace opened doors everywhere. Because I was in the jewelry business, I frequented New York City and because I had my TCB necklace, I was always given hotel upgrades. Also, American Airlines continually upgraded me to first class because they knew I was with Elvis. It was absolutely amazing the power that little necklace had back in the ‘70s.

Engagement Ring

About 1 AM in the morning, the phone rang; it was Elvis. It was very unusual for him to call me that late. He said, "Lowell, I need an engagement ring. I want to give Ginger Alden an engagement ring tonight." He said, "I want a diamond exactly like the one in the middle of my TCB ring." I was still half-asleep and I told him, "I don’t have one and nobody else is going to have one either." He argued with me for a while and then he said, "Well I’ll find one some where else." Then he hung up. I went back to sleep. About 30 minutes later the phone rang again. It was Elvis again. He said, "Lowell, I’ve got to have a ring tonight for Ginger. What am I going to do?" I said, "Well, I can make a phone call or two to New York. That’s the only place I know to find a diamond that size." I told him if I could find one, we could take the jet to New York and bring the diamond back here. He said that would be great. "Let’s see if we can do it". So I called a couple of diamond dealers I knew in New York. I woke them up in the middle of the night, told them the dilemma, and both of them said there is no way a diamond of that size is not going to be in a vault. The vaults are all on timers in banks and there is no way we can get a diamond that size. So I called him back and told him the bad news, and I think he accepted it.

I was laying there thinking about what he wanted, was there any other way I could think of to do it. It dawned on me that if he wanted a diamond just like the one in the TCB ring, why don’t we use that diamond tonight and replace the diamond in the TCB ring next week before he goes on his next tour. So I called him back and told him of the new idea to get Ginger her ring. Well, it was just exactly what he wanted. So I drove to Graceland, picked up the TCB ring, and went back to my jewelry shop. I sat down, removed it from the TCB ring, and made a mounting to fit it with three diamonds on each side. I set the big diamond in the center of it, sized it to Ginger’s finger, and then drove back to Graceland with it. I got there just after daylight. On January the 26th, he gave Ginger the ring, and then on January 28th he bought additional jewelry for her to complete her engagement jewelry.

Notice below Elvis is wearing a large Maltese Cross necklace which I made for him and the Original TCB Ring with the center diamond that was later removed to make an engagement ring for Ginger Alden. (Elvis had to wear bandaids on his fingers because the orignal ring had a sharp edge and it cut his fingers - he loved the ring so much he wouldn't leave it with me to have it fixed until after his tour)

Below is a picture of the original Maltese Cross necklace that I made and the original receipt from when Elvis purchased it. I delivered the big cross necklace, which is on display at Graceland, to Linda Thompson on December the 20th, 1973. Linda had drawn a sketch of the pendent the way she wanted it made, set with diamonds in the arms of the Cross, and then it was to have two hearts which were touching at the points with a circle around them like an eternity band. The hearts were set with Elvis’ birthstone and Linda’s birthstone. Again, this piece was totally hand-made and hand-set. The base of the pendent was white gold, the border of the cross was trimmed in yellow gold, and the wedding band that circles the two hearts is yellow gold. It was a very beautiful showpiece, and Elvis wore it proudly on all tours and all performances. Replicas of this piece are also available for purchase.
